Not much new to report, we are still waiting, but our translated dossier has been
sent to the Kazakhstan Consulate in NY. It will be there for 8 weeks and will
then be sent back to Almaty, Kazakhstan. They are telling us that we are on
track as far as our time frame and they have never had anyone in the program for
longer than 13 months. We have very few restrictions as far as the type of
children they can refer us, we remain open to gender (which all but guarantees
and confirms they will both be boys as most people request girls) and ethnicity
(Caucasian takes much longer), we are still requesting young as possible but are
steadfast in the 'healthy as possible' requirement.
They are also suggesting that we start researching the aspects of international
adoption and the impact is has on children and to start preparing for the medical
evaluation by picking out an international adoption doctor. The bad news - they
are raising the fee, again.
Meanwhile, we continue to stay busy with work, friends and family.
